At Balboa High School, our students are part of Small Learning Communities. These Communities are environments that foster long-term individualized learning, where curriculum is centered around a major theme of study (Pathway). Ninth and tenth grades are their own Small Learning Communities. In the spring of tenth grade, students choose a Pathway for their Junior and Senior years. Pathways offer both honors and general education courses.
