Hello friends and fellow members, I hope this is finding you well.
Our State PTA Convention in Los Angeles is fast approaching. Even though you may not be attending this year since it is farther away (next year it will be in Sacramento -April 30th-mark your calendars!)...I wanted to send the Convention Chronicle (pdf attached) so you are in the loop. Many of us from the Second District board are attending. Convention online registration is still open until May 1st at www.capta.org
Your membership is important and we do speak for every child with one voice. You are 1 in 900,000+ strong in the State of California...did you know that?
Many of our members in San Francisco don't realize that they belong to a very big community of parents working for all of our children's best interest throughout the State. Our job at the Second District PTA is to provide a service and educate our 8,800+ members on citywide issues that impact our children here.
To do this, we need your help.
Please send your school member email addresses to our communication chair, Michelle Parker email@example.com by Wednesday May 7th. This will enable us to mobilize our members. Thank you!
We promise to only send emails about advocacy and citywide events. I appreciate your time and efforts with this request.
Reminders: Incoming Presidents...we are hosting a retreat for you on Monday May 19th, 6:30-9pm and for incoming officers a training on Saturday May 31st from 8:30-12noon.
Enjoy your day and keep up the good work! We would be nothing without YOU!
All the best.
2. ALL UNITS: please turn in your annual report and new officers list TODAY
All PTAs in San Francisco must turn in their Annual Report by May 15th, though you can certainly turn it in earlier! Here is the form; you may send it in by mail or email to firstname.lastname@example.org. The most important part of this document is the record of your PTA's volunteer hours. Hopefully you have been tracking them throughout the year. If you haven't, please work with you volunteer leaders to make a good estimate. This number is important for us to be able to substantiate your work as a non-profit organization. What counts as volunteer hours? See this handy flyer for ideas!
We also need the contact information for all of your PTA's newly elected officers as soon as the election takes place so that we can make sure they have all the resources they need to be successful next year. You could say that by turning this information this month, you are giving your new board the best gift they could ask for! The officer contact list template can be found here (3rd form down) and is also attached. Please send the completed report email@example.com. If you have not yet held your PTA elections, please send us a note letting us know when they will happen or if you need help/support.
A big THANK YOU and congratulations to SF Public Montessori PTA for being the first school to turn in their New PTA Officers Contact List!
