California State PTA Scholarships

Program Grants for Units

Is your PTA researching a new outreach program, or perhaps expanding on current success? These California State PTA program grants are issued annually and available to unit, council and district PTAs in good standing, these unique annual grants are geared to support local PTAs in developing programs and projects that address four areas of major interest to our children, schools and members, Parent Education, Cultural Arts, Outreach Translation and Healthy Lifestyle.

The application deadline each year is October 15th. Applications and reference forms with letters must be received in the California State PTA office by close of business October 15. When October 15 falls on a weekend, applications are due in the State PTA office by close of business the following Monday. Postmarks will not be accepted.

Graduating High School Senior Scholarship

The California State PTA scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors to commend extensive volunteer service in the school and community. Scholarships are for use during fall semester/quarter, following high school graduation.

Continuing Education – Credential Teachers, Counselors, Nurses and School Staff

Credentialed teachers, counselors, nurses and school staff who have a minimum of three years’ experience in a California public school are eligible to apply for the $500 Continuing Education Scholarship for School Staff. You must be employed in a California public school during the preceding year and plan to continue working in a California school. Download the instructions for the full list of requirements.

Continuing Education – PTA Volunteer

PTA volunteers with at least three years of service are eligible to apply for the $500 Continuing Education Scholarship. Your scholarship must be used for advanced studies at accredited California colleges, universities, trade and technical schools. Download the instructions for the full list of requirements.

Hopson Scholarship

The Hopson Scholarship is a cash award of $3,500 and is open to SFUSD high school seniors who will be entering college next year and intend to major in or be deeply interested in classical voice or piano.
